Synopsis (from Goodreads)
Carter Beckett is the NHL’s resident badboy, top player on both the ice and the bedroom, and quite possibly the sexiest man to ever grace my field of vision. But worst of all? He knows it.
He’s arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn’t seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one. He’s had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently I’m up next.
His only problem? I have no intention of falling for his shi-um, charm.
I have the solution to all my sexual frustrations in a drawer at home, and it’s far less complicated than Carter Beckett. Sure he may be pretty, but he’s also a walking, talking reminder for you to wrap it before you tap it.
But then I start to let my guard down, and he starts showing me pieces of himself I had no intention of seeing. The bricks surrounding me may be tumbling down one by one, but I’m not sold yet, which means for the first time in his life, Carter’s the one begging.
For my time, my trust, for a single chance.
For me to just…consider him.
What I Think Of It So Far
I purchased the first three books of the series on a whim, because the covers were so pretty, and they had a buy two, get the third free deal at my local Indigo store. It was the perfect book to start the month of July off with. It has been hard to put it down when needed.
The book is super spicy – buyer beware, the first chapter was quite the doozy to walk into. But while it’s spicy, it’s also sweet with a touch of that slow-burn romance that makes you want to melt. I’m enjoying getting to know Carter and Olivia as they get to know each other, you also get a feel for the other side characters who no doubt I’m sure will take center stage when their book gets its debut.
While I love where the story is going right now, I’m not quite halfway through and I feel like the author has this giant shoe that she’s going to drop any minute and then I might throw a fit of tears at the heartache it’s bound to bring. This book I feel will be a tear-jerker…I know it.
